Success After Syracuse

Foti’s student-athletes have found professional soccer success after Syracuse. Chris Aloisi, captain of the 2003 team, was drafted by the Los Angeles Galaxy of Major League Soccer and was a member of the Houston Dynamo during its run to the MLS Cup 2006.[2]

Richard Asante, an All-BIG EAST and All-Northeast Region selection in 2006, became the latest member of the Orange to be selected in the MLS SuperDraft. He was taken with the first pick in the third round (27th overall) by Toronto FC.[3]

In addition, the Orange has had a player selected in the USL First Division College Draft in eight of the last 10 years, including 2006 when Ezra Prendergast was chosen by the Rochester Raging Rhinos. Prendergast was also picked in the MLS Supplemental Draft by the Chicago Fire. Syracuse has also had players compete in the NPSL, WISL and USISL.[4]
